Brewery Ommegang 'Cross photos

With one 'cross race now in the bag, I have been given a veritable treasure trove of photos. Some of these came from Maddie, others came from Cliff Summers. Thanks for the photos!

Also, today being the first Tuesday of the month, I have a new essay up on the Embrocation Cycling Journal website -- I get paid per click, so read often!

Jamie dominates the 3/4 race
This was the steepest hill on the course
It was very rideable
Barriers outside the beer tent made for good spectating
I find that I can get over the barriers just fine
it's getting back on the bike that I have problems with

The Brewery Ommegang was a great venue
The permanent beer tent didn't hurt
Our course will be much more challenging, though

Some of the hardest elements of the course were in the beer tent
These took a lot of concentration
I ate it on this turn during the 3/4 race

I could be off the front, right?
I'd say that my greatest challenge is trust issues with my tires
But we'll get there

Here's John on the barriers
Cow print jersey and a matching cow silo
The Trek tape really pulls the whole thing together

More barrier action
And yes, that girl did beat me
At least I didn't throw a tantrum before the race

Here's me on the ride-up in the 3/4 race
I wasn't really off the front, so there was a bit more traffic
I did manage to pass some of these guys, though

Jamie on the barriers
Next time, we'll see him bunny-hop the whole set
Well, I won't see it, but it'll happen

Cliff got some great shots, but focused on people he knows.

Andrew - what pressure are you running. You weigh about 150lbs right? You could easily go with 35lbs on clincher tire. Maybe even 32lbs. This may help with the tire issue...

Jesse, I'm probably already there. I put 40 pounds in my tires at the car, then let some air out just before the start. My very scientific finger-squeeze test put my pressure at about 34.768 lbs in the front and 35.0086 in the rear.

Maybe next time I'll try to run slightly lower pressure.
