Tour of the Battenkill Photos

Cat 3 finish in Cambridge on Sunday
this is the lead group,
but I seem to have found my way out of the frame

We're now on the fourth-straight day of Tour of the Battenkill-related posts. I'm getting record traffic off of google search for Tour of the Battenkill, so I'm going to go with it.

For your viewing pleasure today, are the only photos I've seen thus far from my race on Saturday. These were captured by Stacey on Meeting House Road. As you'll recall from Monday's race recap, Meeting House Road is where the race came apart: about 50 riders came onto the road together. Seven riders were left at the front of the race on the other end.

The lead cat 3s, in the center of the road
I'm second wheel as we fly up Meeting House
We were passing riders dropped from other races on the way

Climbing halfway across Meeting House
Cuttler and I lead the charge,
the field shatters behind

In the other cat 3 race, Evan Cooper rides in the pack
He finished second
Nice ride!

Pete, of BVF, works to close
the gap
He rode well to a high finish

At the finish, I'm pretty much useless
except for eating
Can't believe I was even still standing

I took these photos on Saturday morning, before my race:

Connie supervises the cat 5 roll out
There were some real heroes in this field
Some fell victim to ill-timed mechanicals...

Davis, Jamie and Kevin on the Cat 5 start line.
Jamie and Kevin both flated, I'm not sure what happened to Davis
Good race guys, I know you'll do better next year!

are there more cat 3 photos posted somewhere?

i was in the 2nd group on the road. we got close to you guys at one point but that last little climb sealed our fate. we were mostly bigger guys for whom the successive climbs just killed.

My "personal photographer" shot these, they're all I've got. Sorry.

Nice job in the race, sorry we had to put the nail in your coffin, but those hills are really hard.
