First Snow of the Season!

Here is a driveway on Broadway.
You can see tire tracks in the snow.
There was much more snow in the morning.

There's always something magical about the first snow of the season. I dragged myself out of a warm bed this morning to move my car for alternate-side parking, when I glanced out the window to see a thin covering of snow on the ground, clinging to the grass in our yard, and coating our cars. Oh happy day!

This means that soon we'll have a happy coating of snow every day, with more falling from the sky every couple weeks. Oh happy day! This is the season of warm cups of cocoa in front of our gas stove and wearing wool socks in my Birkenstock's. This is the season of skiing and shoveling snow and spontaneous snowball fights. Oh, this is a great time of year!!

It's been a few years since I can remember the first snow falling before Thanksgiving. The last time it happened was in my first year of college. So, I'll take every bit of snow I can get. I happily used my snow scraper to clean off my car this morning, before I needed to take it to get its inspection renewed, and then used extra care driving over to the garage. So, it was a good day. I'll be back with more memories tomorrow, in mean time, enjoy another photo of snow.

This is a Queen Anne Victorian on Clement Avenue.
There is snow in the yard and on the roof.
The owner needed their truck to get out of the driveway today!
